Fence builders Auckland, timber, slat, pool and automatic gates.
Fences and gates do three jobs at once – define a boundary, keep things in or out, and frame the garden behind them. Built well, they’re the quiet finishing touch. Built badly, they’re the eyesore you walk past every day.
Fence installation in Auckland
How long does the job take?
Fence installation in Auckland typically takes 2-5 days for a standard residential boundary. Day one is focused on accurate set-out and digging postholes to the correct depth. Day two involves setting posts in concrete and allowing adequate curing time. Days three to five cover installing rails, palings, and completing the finishing details. All offcuts and site waste are removed on completion for a clean handover.
Wooden gates Auckland
Crafted for heritage and modern homes alike.
Custom timber wooden gates, sized for the opening and hung from properly anchored posts so they do not drop in year two. Pedestrian, driveway, side gates – heritage homes and modern homes alike. Auto-close hinges if you want them, standard latches if you do not.

Gates
Pedestrian, driveway, automatic.
From a simple side gate to a fully automated swing or sliding driveway gate. Automatic driveway gates need the right motor, the right power supply, and a properly engineered post structure to last.
Pool fence Auckland
Designed for compliance, built for first-time pass.
Pool and spa fencing in New Zealand is governed by the Building Act 2004 and the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act. Requirements cover minimum height, self-closing and self-latching gates, gap measurements, and any water feature deeper than 400mm. We build to current spec and coordinate the compliance sign-off with your council.
Boundary fences
The Fencing Act 1978 explained.
Boundary fences in NZ are governed by the Fencing Act 1978. The short version: you generally share the cost with your neighbour, you need to give them written notice before building (form-letter, basically), and they have 21 days to object or counter-propose. We can help you navigate the process or write the notice.
What fencing costs per linear metre in Auckland
As a relative guide per linear metre: timber paling is the most economical. Slat screens sit in the mid-range. Masonry sits at the top of the range and is priced individually. Gates, automation and any consent-driven work are costed separately in the quote.
Materials and finishes: we use H3.2 treated pine palings as the most common spec, with H4 framing and stainless-steel fixings. Stain or paint to suit the rest of your landscape.
Fence cost is driven by material, height, post spacing, and any gate or automation. In relative order from most economical to most premium: timber paling, post and rail, slat screens, composite, then masonry. Gates and motors are quoted separately depending on span, materials and whether automation is fitted.
