Garden Paving, built on sub-base done right.
Paving is the part of a garden you walk on every day. It either holds up – flat, weed-free, doesn’t pool water – or it fails in two years. The difference is what you can’t see: sub-base, drainage, and the patience of the person laying it.
Paving contractors Auckland
The foundation done properly – Where quality paving begins.
The best paving contractors in Auckland know that lasting results come from doing the unseen work properly. Sub-base. Drainage. Edge restraint. Compaction in layers. The work nobody photographs and every paving job lives or dies on.
Most paving fails not because the pavers are bad, but because what’s underneath them was rushed. We dig deep, lay proper basecourse, compact in layers, and slope for drainage. Boring, expensive, non-negotiable.
Paving stones Auckland
Natural stone, clay, concrete, exposed aggregate.
Natural stone (bluestone, schist, basalt) for the premium look. Clay pavers for warmth and tradition. Concrete pavers for cost-effective modern work. Exposed aggregate for driveways. Permeable systems where Council rules require them. We help you match the paving stone to the section, the sun, and the budget.

What we pave
Driveways, patios, paths, pool surrounds, courtyards, plus commercial entrance and plaza work.
What we pave
Driveways, patios, paths and pool surrounds.
Driveways, patios, paths, pool surrounds, courtyards, terrace areas. Some commercial paving too – entrance ways, pedestrian zones, plaza work.
Permeable paving Auckland
Designed for stormwater compliance.
Auckland Council’s stormwater rules can require permeable paving on properties with large impervious surface areas – driveways, patios or courtyard combinations that push a site over the threshold. We check the site against current rules at quote stage and design permeable systems where they’re required. Sub-base prep: the bit that makes paving last.

Maintenance
Sealing and weed prevention.
Most paving benefits from a sealing every 2-4 years (depending on material and exposure) and a wash every spring. We can advise on the right products and revisit annually if you’d like us to handle it.
What paving costs per square metre
As a relative guide per square metre installed: concrete pavers are the most economical option, clay pavers sit in the mid-range, and natural stone is at the top of the range. Permeable systems add a premium because of the drainage layer. Excavation and existing sub-base condition are the biggest variables.
Paving cost is driven by material, sub-base preparation, drainage, and any Council-required permeable systems. In relative order from most economical to most premium: concrete pavers, clay pavers, exposed aggregate, natural stone, then permeable systems. Excavation and drainage are costed separately depending on what’s under the existing surface.
